    Your favorite Chrome Web Apps - List them here!

    Hi guys!

    A few days ago I wrote an article about my 10 favourite Chrome Web Applications. You can read it here:
    10 Of The Best Chrome Web Apps – So Far

    It would be great if we started to compile our favorite Chrome Web Apps here. It will hopefully become a good app discovery resource for everyone who is just joining the forum.

    I think the NYTimes App is good. It has got a sleek UI and has offline capability. It is truly a web app.

    Hey Scripter.

    I have tried that App and I did generally like it. I wasn't totally impressed with it though because it seemed a bit dull and the UI isn't great.
    I think the reason why I say this is because I have an Ipad; I use apps like flipboard and Pulse. I think we need more players to push the boundaries a bit.

    Tweetdeck for example did a great job. Their Web App looks and feels just like the Ipad app:

    For me it is box.net. 5GB of free cloud storage and everything is in the browser. No plugins, no nautilus integration... and it uses your Google account.
    Sweet.

    I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Aviary sweet of web apps. They are surprisingly powerful and are a lot more than just a glorified link like a lot of the current app store offerings.

    The NY Times app is interesting in that it shows what is possible outside the confines of a traditional newspaper or news website. It's not perfect, but it is a step in the right direction for e-newspaper offerings.

    Another extension (I know...it's not an app, but close enough) that I really enjoy is Chrome Bird. It's a twitter extension that places a little icon up in the top right (near the bug) that has all your twitter info at the click of a button. I like it because it doesn't take up a whole page, is more of a drop-down menu of your twitter newsfeed. It's not necessarily new, as I have been using it in my Chrome browser for a while now, but still was worth mentioning.

    My favorite web apps (so far :-)
    * Tweetdeck: As mentioned above, it's very well done
    * You've Got News (AOL news aggregator): A little laggy but still an interesting way to read news
    * NPR for Chrome: Nice UI -- similar to NPR app for iPad
    * USA Today
    * Writing Space: Writing app similar to WriteRoom for Mac / Q10 for Windows
    * Salon for Chrome
    * SpringPad: I prefer this cloud app to Evernote
    * Good Noows: Another news app, very customizable UI

    I haven't tried Aviary Suite, will check it out!

    I don't have many just yet, but so far I have:

    Scribble - great for quick notes, clean and simple UI

    Aviary Advanced Image Editor- my favorite webapp for image editing. The HTML5 version is good as well, but doesn't have nearly as many features

    SlideRocket - great for making slideshows, lots of features

    Google Docs - obligatory

    eBuddy My favorite IM client. Works a treat in Chrome Browser. Don't know what its like in the OS.

    Springpad I just tried this today, also got the ipod touch app for it too, it may very well replace the Awesome note app I've been using forever. We'll have to see, because it doesn't have a memopad and its features seem to be geared towards todo's and remembering things, productivity, not so much the creative writing that I use Awesome note for. Still, this looks like it'll be nice to play with.

    deviantART Muro This app already existed without Chrome, but you can have a link to it in the Chrome tab. Basically its a painting program, and I love it a lot. As well as the Aviary art program, they're both great!

    Google Docs A given

    ChroMUD A MUD/MUSH client for Chrome, its still in Alpha but it looks like it'll be updated often with new functions! No way to store game addresses yet, but putting in my addresses is quick and it connects fast.

    Balloono This is one of the first games you see on the Games section of the app store. Its a multiplayer online Bomberman clone with monkeys and waterballoons. Adorable! :O Unfortunately my laptop is slow as a snail so I'll leave it to Chrome OS beta and CR-48 users to tell me how it runs on their laptop. *sniff, why no Canada in the pilot program, why?*

    Thats it. There are lots more games and fun stuff I haven't tried, but these are what I have in my new tab list right now, plus a few flash-games that are basically just glorified links. Blah.

    EDIT: Just gonna add a game in that I just finished playing a round with. Entangled is free, and rather fun puzzle game, give it a go!
