If you have a choppy YouTube playback

I started another thread asking how people were accessing pictures and stuff and was told how to enable the media player and file reader. I also did the dev update and after restarting went to youtube to hopefully enjoy noise free music. Well, my playback was suddenly choppy. I went back and disabled the media player and file reader and restarted. Flawless youtube video now. Has anyone else noticed a connection between some features being enabled and poor video playback or is it just mine?

I know some of the features in about:flags have affected some people's ability to see videos on Hulu, but I'm not sure about YouTube. I have media player and Advanced File System enabled on mine and YouTube plays okay for me as long as it is at 360p, any higher than that and it gets choppy.

Interesting. I would like to point out memory useage for the media player seems too add a good 100 mb hunk into some tab's total.

I suggest tweaking things for video playback when you're sure your internet provider is at a very low usage point - late night is good. Even though your measure throughput (ie up and down speeds looks good) other delays such as router overloads, rsvp and other factors can affect what amounts to "real time" traffic. Video and VoIP are the two most heavily affected by these circumstances. I have Clear 4G wireless and Comcast cable. When the Comcast is screwing up I switch to the Clear 4G and everything is fine - mostly because Clear is relatively new in the area so their saturation points are nowhere near reached yet.

    quick work around

I searched for answers related to choppy video playback on YouTube.com when using Chrome and found this thread. If you right click on the video playback and click POP OUT, a new window will open that is the size of the video screen. When I play videos in this manner, they play flawlessly unless I try to open or click media in other windows in the background. I have previously used Chrome for YouTube and have had no issues. Not sure what's causing the issue in a normal window but this will get me by until I resolve it.
