    Question Trouble Switching to AT&T

Got my Cr48, flipped the switch, changed the channel, and realized that I burned through 30MB in about 12 hours of use. :/

At home I use the WiFi, but I want to use my unlimited AT&T data (since I'm already paying for it.)

When I use modem_set_carrier, it switched appropriately to all 3: Generic UMTS, AT&T and back home to Verizon Wireless.

On both the GU and ATT settings, I get signal, but only get an option to activate. No option to connect. Tried clicking in multiple places, but to no avail.

Anyone out there have any thoughts?

There is a SIM card slot in the battery compartment. Have you tried putting a SIM in there? If you already tried that, I have no idea. If not, then that could very well be the cause. CDMA doesn't need a SIM, or rather doesn't use SIM cards. GSM, which AT&T uses, does. You can get GSM signal, which is a good sign, but just like any old GSM phone, it won't do much for you without the SIM card in.

EDIT: Here, better yet, just follow Hexxeh's instructions.

If you are in developer mode, the Cr-48 should stop at a screen that looks like an error message. Mine currently beeps twice at that screen after ~30 seconds, something that I think is new but I"m not positive.

At that screen, press CTRL+D to continue booting even though you are in developer mode. (If you do not see that screen, flip the switch the other way and see if you see it.) From here, the directions can be found in the link above to Hexxeh's instructions. When you get to a prompt, you can use ALT+TAB to switch back to your browser.

Yep, followed Hexxeh's instructions to the T.

Haven't tried it on the latest dev build, as it updated last night on the WiFi, so we'll see what happens today.

Has anyone out there been successful?
