Based on the original post it looks like the difference between Fish and Pony lies in the wireless card. The Fish has a Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01) versus the AzureWave 802.11 a/b/g/n PCI-E Half MiniCard in the Pony.

Thanks for the quick overview ... I wonder why the change. I would love to see some speed tests on both Cr-48s in the same location on an N WiFi network.

If some one can post the results of this tool on the other model, we could do a quick diff of the files to see if there was anything we missed.

Now that I think about it having the two models makes perfect sense. As it stands the Pony has two chip-sets the Bluetooth and the Wireless card being separated while the Fish has them integrated. These are the only two options a manufacturer has when building a laptop. Google is most likely testing the two main wireless networking configurations for the Chrome OS in order to determine if there will be any issues ie: battery life, cpu, networking stack, etc... for there OS.
