Exclamation So ... is ChrUbuntu really better than vanilla Ubuntu?

Chromebooks and Chrome OS: ChrUbuntu 12.04. Now with double the bits!

Claims performance improvements, any try it to verify? And yes, I've read the comments, none of them touch upon it.

So far as I can determine, ChrUbuntu is a pretty staight 12.04 distribution, rocking the 64-bit 3.8x kernel. I use it with the very small footprint razor-qt interface, and it is pretty damn speedy for a $200 machine.

$200 machine? Secondhand purchase, I assume?

Anyway, since making this post I've installed ChrUbuntu 12.04, and not only did I not see any performance increases, but it's actually slower than vanilla Ubuntu 11.04, even with Unity 2D. So I'm not impressed at all, and I am considering figuring out a way to go back to 11.04.

No, without a Windows tax, this little laptop actually costs $200.
