I'm on developer mode.
Can I run programs like aircrack-ng? Or virtualbox?
How would I go about this?

I would assume I could install packages the same way as demonstrated in the above link?

I would assume you could not. I think the packages on the duh page run without the normal dependencies that most Linux programs rely upon. I think you'd have better luck with simple programs, and I imagine you'd have success with other programs that have no dependencies.
This is only a semi-educated guess, however. Give it a try. Let us know how it turns out. I have to admit that virtualbox would be a very nice application to have on the Cr-48.
I honestly don't know where to start. I avoid linux since it can't play netflix/ games.
I understand. I keep one Windows computer around my house specifically to run Netflix. My other computers, however, all run some version of Linux. I highly recommend that everyone at least try it. Linux has its quirks, but I love that it is highly customizable, (practically) impervious to malware, faster than Windows, and requires no maintenance. If you'd like to try Linux without a committment, most Linux distributions allow users to create either a "Live CD" or a "Live USB" that would allow the user to boot into Linux and try it without making changes to one's hard drive. Users can also install Linux alongside Windows and choose which operating system to use when they boot. It's a nice way to get the freedom of Linux while keeping Windows on tap for when it's needed. I'd recommend Linux Mint as a good system for starters. If you're smitten with Chrome OS, however, I'd recommend Peppermint Ice or Joli OS, both of which are heavy on Chromium and web apps.
Well ive read Chrome OS can run Arch Linux binary packages. I doubt youd be able to run virtualbox as those would require X (X is the window system) and dependencies. You'd have to make a kernel module anyways for virtualbox. Maybe you could install aricrack but idk. You can probably install command line things such as nano.
Here's a guide that tells you how to do that. Might be a start. ChromeBook - Musings of the CR48: Installing the Nano text editor
Here's another article installing the vi text editor. It goes into more detail. Installing vi on CR-48 | Jeff Saracco
**Edit: Just looked at the link the OP posted and it tells you on how to do it aswell.
These are great HOWTOs, helped give me a nice base of tools needed for systems/network admin.
I've run Ubuntu for extended periods as a main OS. Like I said, the problem is just that there's no Netflix and no games =p otherwise it would be full time.
Thanks dots. Yea =p I can install nano but once gdocs has an offline version there'll be no point.
