The Google Chrome team is happy to announce the release of Chrome 16 on the Stable Channel for Chromebooks (Acer AC700, Samsung Series 5, and Cr-4.

Chrome version 16.0.912.66 (Platform version: 1193.117)

Release highlights:

• Read about improvements to Chrome over on the Google Chome blog
• Support for .zip files
• Onscreen indication when caps lock is enabled
• Warning messages regarding low disk space
• Telegu and Kannada languages now supported
• Updated Pepper Flash version
• Crash fixes
• Security updates

At this rate, seeing as though Chrome Stable is on a 6-week release cycle, we should see R17 on Stable on January 20, and R18 (supposedly the first release expected to have Aura by default, seeing as though almost all the Chromium bugs related to Aura have a milestone target of 18) on Stable starting March 2...
