Still seeing wifi disconnect issues. It seems that hulu will give the black box when the gpu stuff is enabled in about:flags. Another trick that has worked for me with sound is using Shift+Esc then killing flash.

It may be my imagination but the trackpad seems to be behaving better.

Can see SD card now (on dev channel); can play music and view photos; still trying to find what video file it will play.

I have switched over to developer mode. I found a post How to disable screen dim in Google CR-48 | NW Linux on how to disable the screen dim. It mentions to CTRL + ALT + -> and you will find a you will get into Virtual Terminal 2. I then followed the instructions to change the chronos password by logging in as root and typing:

    echo "chronos:$(openssl passwd -1)" > /mnt/stateful_partition/etc/devmode.passwd

The problem is I am a noob and just type the above into the command line as is but I think that I mistakenly put a ? instead of a $ and now I cannot login to root or chronos. Does anyone have any information that could help me? Thanks.

It was actually from a fad of purposely abbreviating things incorrectly in the 1830-40s. Apparently, people back then were easily amused.

Of course, we have Katie Perry and Kanye West, so our generation's not one to talk.

.....and done. It definitely works. First, disable both of them in about:flags, run the test here:
    Hardware Acceleration Stress Test.

Then re-enable them and re-run the test. Went from 6 fps to 20 fps. Sweet!

Edit to add: Make sure you restart chrome whenever you change flags options else they won't be in effect (theres a button on that screen)

I fixed the issue by switching the DEV switch back to normal and then back to DEV. Guess I will look up the correct way to change the password next time
