    CR-48 Backlight Failure?

    Hey guys,

Is anyone familiar with the CR-48 having failure issues with the backlight? I have one here on which the screen works, but the backlight has obviously failed. I'd rather just replace the backlight.

Google said that they have no further replacement units available for any kind of warranty service, so though they are sorry to hear, they can't help me. They did direct me to a place where I can get a replacement screen, but I'd rather try to buy the backlight unit before buying the whole screen if possible and do the swap.

Nevermind guys - the ribbon cable from the monitor to the mobo came loose. I just pulled it off (GENTLY!!!!!!!) and reseated it. Booted, and good as gold.

I find it somewhat humorous that one of my older posts was the one that was the "last post" in a given forum, though of course, sad for the forum in general.

So as not to make this just a pointless update, I should also note that the cable mentioned below came loose (again), and to prevent this issue once it's started to happen, you should hot glue the connector back in place once you have reconnected it and verified functionality.

Great advice for those who run into this problem in the future. Glad you were able to take care of it so easily Kat.
