CR-48 Display does not appear until pin below VGA port is depressed

I received CR-48 couple of weeks ago. I tried to power on but nothing happened except white power light was turned on. No display. I googled around and learnt about pin below VGA port, and depressed it for 2-3 seconds and then pressed the power button and display lit up showing Recovery page. I created recovery USB stick on Windows, Mac and Ubuntu Linux, with no success whatsoever. Even after inserting the USB stick, no progress beyond the recovery page.

Talked to Ninjas, who tried to help a lot, but no success. Anyone has encountered similar issue and successfully able to resolve?

First I've heard of this. That sucks. Wish I could offer any help....Are you making sure you're pressing SPACE key to begin recovery?

Yes, I tried pressing each key when Recovery screen, but nothing happened. Ninja mentioned that - when I am pressing that pin below VGA port, I am triggering the recovery process. It's possible that my CR-48 is working fine, and just that display does not appear as I boot. But then - Question remains, why display is appearing when I am pressing that pin..

    Thanks!

EDIT: when I powered in by pressing pin with USB inserted, the screen appeared with message, remove all SD and USB devices to begin recovery. I removed USB, then recovery screen appeared.. but when I inserted USB, nothing happened.. huh!

Have you tried flipping the dev switch? Your display seems to be working as you're seeing that message in the first place...hmmm.

What should be done after flipping Dev Switch? The display only appears as I press that pin.

I'm not sure, was just giving you things to try. So you flipped the dev switch and hit the power button and it was black? Do you need to HOLD that pin in to get a display?

    help

All I get is a black screen @ boot and the fan turns on. I have tried to connect external monitor with no luck. Tried to hit the video reset pin. Tried to unplug the internal video but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

I have the same issue with mine. I haven't tried to unplug the internal video.

Try reseating your SSD. They have been known to come loose, with differing symptoms.
