Well, I got my cr-48 a couple of months ago. I was extremely surprised to get one mostly because I'd forgotten that I even signed up for it.
So the night I got it was at the end of a really crappy day. I came home and there was a box on the front porch. I looked at my girlfriend and asked if she'd accidentally ordered something on eBay again and carried the mystery box inside.
I first checked the box for some ticking noises and then decided that it was safe to open it. I started opening it and the first thought in my head was "Who the hell is sending me a computer?" then i saw the little sheet that came with it and almost had a cow. Needless to say I was pretty happy :-)
So I got to play with it for about 20 minutes before I went to bed. Got up the next morning like a kid on Christmas morning and ran into the room to play with it. It worked great....for about 30 minutes. It refused to see any network. So I restarted it. It refused to do anything.
I was kinda disappointed at this point.
So fast forward a couple of months and I finally decided to get into it and see if I could do something about it.
After doing some digging around in developer mode and grepping my way through the dmesg I found out that the wifi card was refusing to initialize.
Ater finding a couple of teardown examples I did some eBay hunting for the right wifi card.
$13.68 and a new wifi card was on it's way from China. Swapped it out and happiness resulted. :-D
I've been putting it through it's paces. Found some online resources to do website coding and image editing and discovered that I could live on it extremely comfortably.
Now if I can just figure out how to disable the trackpad...
Anyway, I was searching around for info and stumbled on this site. I was very happy after reading through a bunch of posts and finding not only useful information but friendly people too.
Ok, now that I've typed way more than I meant to...HI! lol
