    WPA/WPA2 TTLS-PAP on Chrome OS/Cr-48?

My school's wifi uses WPA/WPA2 TTLS-PAP for authentication. In the list of wireless networks on my Cr-48, all the encrypted networks are shown, but grayed out & won't let me click on them to connect. Does this mean Chrome OS and/or the Cr-48 doesn't support this sort of connection? Any advice?

To be fair, the school has unprotected Wifi access points available as well, but if possible I'd much rather be using encryption.

    CConover,

Hi. I don't have an answer for you. I too see the secure wifi connections grayed out at my University.

Good luck. I'll post an update if I learn anything.

I too have seen this. I work in the IT department at a school district, and we have two SSID's on the same wireless network. One with basic encryption and the other running Radius (which is the grayed out SSIDs you see). I have no clue how to get on these networks. I even set up a local test network with my own gear and once I kicked it to Radius it grayed out the SSID. If I brought it back to WEP/WPA/WPA2 authentication it became available.

I am assuming it's a limitation in the hardware. I would think that the final release would support this, because a lot off businesses and school districts do utilize this type of security.

Interesting. As you said, hopefully this will be something that's supported in the future (along with ad hoc networks!). Thanks for the info!

Google knows this and is working on it. As it stands, ChromeOS doesn't support wireless networks with certificates. It will eventually however... we just have to wait!

Hope it comes soon though. I really need it so I can utilize the CR-48 at school because as of now I'm confined to simply my home WIFI or 3G. Can't test the machine and OS as much as I should until that update comes.
