Verizon Data Plans available For CR-48 Chrome Ntebooks

For those who may be interested in upgrading the data plan on their CR-48 to a higher one (100mb a month probably wont be enough for most), here's the official price list:

    100MB of data per month1 - Free
    Limitless day pass2 - $9.99 per day
    Additional 1GB of data3 - $20 per month
    Additional 3GB of data3 - $35 per month
    Additional 5GB of data3 - $50 per month

That's not bad. So far I've minimized my 3G use by maximizing my WiFi use and I don't have a smart phone.

So, after 2 days of using the day pass, you are better off going with the 1GB or more per month package! Imagine getting 1GB per day for $0.99?! That would be great!

Doesn't AT&T do data for iPhones et. al. at 200MB blocks (0-200MB = base, 201-400MB = purchased 1 additional block of data, etc.)?

Jeeze... Verizon that's just going a bit too far. Anything under ten bucks can be handwaved by most people. Get too close up to the next pricepoint on the list and people will wonder.

so, $75 for 1GB? For that price can get 5GB from Verizon and keep $25 in my pocket (minus taxes and fees... so, I guess nothing would make it into the pocket then...)

In AT&T's defense it is $25 for 2 Gigabytes if you don't like the $15 per 200MB plan.

What I don't understand is why I should give Verison my credit card # if I just plan on only using the 100mb per mo, I already have wireless and that would be plenty as far as I can see. I've had past dealings with Verizon and I don't trust them with my # ! Free ought to be free and I know thru friends that once you reach limit you're cut off.

Yep I understand where you're coming from, I hate giving out my cc for free stuff as well. It shouldn't be a problem though, this is basically like a prepaid plan, so once you hit your limit you won't be charged for anything, it will simply cut off unless you purchase more.
