    CR48 and n router = slow performance

    Hi all,

Just picked up a router/modem from my ISP. It has "N" built into it. My CR48 is hooking up to the new router, but I am finding it is slower than my old linksys in pulling up webpages.

Is there a specific setting that the router needs to set to?

Is it true that if I have slower connecting devices on the network, my CR48 will suffer connectivety issues, is this true?

The Cr-48 has been reported to support N.
People in other forums tried switching the Wifi encryption to WPA2/AES with better speed results.

Are you on the Chrome BETA or DEV channel.
Could also be a build issue if your on beta, maybe try the dev build.

Try Googling "Cr-48 slow wifi", there were a few other options out there.

Just a few suggestions off the top of my head, hope it helps.

Another tip is to use OpenDNS servers to speed up the name service requests. Assuming you have access to your routers' settings, you should see an option to change DNS servers. Input these two:

    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220

    Thanks for your responses,

I did move to OpenDNS settings and noticed a noticeable increase in performance. I am not on any Beta or Dev setup, just a straight up CR48 out of the box. I am on the WPA2/AES setup too.

I will do a google search for this as well.

    Update:

I was actually on TKP/AES setup on my router. I switched to AES only, and it looks like the CR48 is responding a lot better now.

Seems like my Nexus S is responding better too.
