Has anybody seen a difference with this? I just got my CR-48 this week and I've noticed a few times I'll drop wireless, but I often get it back painlessly in a matter of seconds. I haven't noticed this at home, though... only at work... and considering we have some issues on our wireless network at work that we're trying to work through, I wasn't sure what to blame. After all, my Ubuntu laptop and even some XP laptops here exhibit that issue now and then. Nonetheless, I wanted to ask about it and see what users were seeing since a month has passed since the last post.
mine has been fine since the latest update. what is your security settings set to ? I had mine originally at wep then changed to wpa aes and noticed it was much more stable.
switching my router from TKIP To AES seemed to help my problem, as they mentioned a few pages back.
Mine were set to WPA/TKIP and I changed them to WPA2/AES, and I noticed it to be better. I'm still having some lugging for certain pages to load. Oddly, most pages load as equally fast as my desktop computer running Ubuntu/Chrome browser and wired up via ethernet, yet when I load Google Docs, it loads SO. SO. SOOO slow on the CR-48, whereas the desktop shows them up in an instant.
I find that kind of strange... I even went and sat right next to my WRT54G router to maximize the signal strength in hopes it may change. Nope. Nadda.
Don't get me wrong, it's a FAST laptop, but it's certainly not a speed breaker in all respects as I imagined.
My connection hasn't dropped once since I got the Chrome OS 0.10.156.4 update yesterday.
Can you help me out with how you guys are updating these gizmos? I switched to developer mode because I thought to get all recent updates you need to be in dev mode. It fully updated and about 60 seconds later required I reboot it, so I did. But when I boot back up, it says I have the same version 0.9 or whatever.
Chrome OS 0.9.130.14 (Official Build ce79fb21) beta x86-mario
Google Chrome 8.0.552.344
For me, I would say it sometimes takes up to a minute to re-connect to wi-fi after going into sleep mode (Which can REALLY suck, because I leave the notebook for a few minutes to get a snack and it's sleeping)
Yes. Have good DSL service here and other laptops connected to WiFi without issues. Cr48 takes a while to connect sometimes... after moving from Verizon 3G to Wifi, it fails to connect sometimes... have to shutdown. and the signal is weak at times even though the router is in the next room. Slow sometimes too. One of my biggest complaints so far, although I like the notebook generally.
