    missing java

I have a CR-48 chrome notebook in developers mode and anything relating to java can not be seen or used. Is there a way to install java on the notebook or a fix. Thank you.

Nope. Unfortunately Java does not work yet with Chrome OS. Hopefully they will eventually address this.

I am waking up this old thread to see if it is working yet? I'm going to be getting an Acer Chromebook, so I can play minecraft and do java-required schoolwork. I just wanted to double check and see if Google has worked Java into Chrome OS. Let me know in your posts below.

Funny you should ask today. Unfortunately, Java is still not working in stock ChromeOS. HOWEVER, Hexxeh release his latest ChromiumOS build today that does have java support. You would have to flash the BIOS of your chromebook, then install one of Hexxeh's builds. You can get the Lime builds at Chromium OS builds by Hexxeh

A downside however, is I believe Hexxeh posted on twitter today that Lime does not Auto Update.
