Angry Javascript based slideshows don't work on CR-48?

I follow quite a few tech magazines and websites including the ZDNet group of websites. They often have interesting Javascript based slideshows. These work fine in Chrome, Firefox and IE9 on my Windows PCs and Macs, but not on the CR-48!

For example, check this eWeek page with an interesting article on IBM's patents. Once you get to this page, the slideshow doesn't advance. Even manually clicking the next slide button does nothing.

Is this issue replicable in other users' CR-48s? Could someone please let me know, and also if there is a fix?

I believe this is a know issue as Java is not fully deployed yet in the CR48.

May I ask you how you know it's a known issue? I didn't see any mention of this in the CR-48 Known Issues page. I have been sending bug reports on this, though.

Also, I suspect you are confusing Java with Javascript, or am I making a mistake? I checked the page element of the forward button in the page whose link I posted. It is a Javascript based command pointing to the next slide. And I found that this is not a CR-48-unique issue. It happens also in the Chrome browser of a regular PC, Win or Mac. The IETab extension comes in pretty handy there.

    Very eloquently put.

You are correct in that I meant java script over Java.

You are also correct that it happens in both the browser and OS. I know of and have seen issues logged on the chromium site that references this type of issue.

    Rock on all!

New update today, but still no joy for me. The javascript based slideshows still don't work on Chrome.
