The speakers don't wow me (cr-48)

Anyone else have to turn the volume all the way up (or nearly all the way) for it to be an acceptable level? Hey its a beta product and we should be focusing on software rather than hardware but thought I'd point this out: the audio is terrible on this thing.

Am I going deaf? What say you?

Yeah they are a bit quiet. As for sound quality it's actually not bad for a laptop (from my experience anyway). But yes, they are pretty quiet and I usually have to turn it up almost all of the way.

Very quiet to me as well. In order to listen to any music I have to turn it almost all the way up - but as you mentioned this is about the software and not hardware.

Although I wonder - is the hardware maker going to end up selling something similar once ChromeOS launches? My money says we will see something close to the cr-48 at launch.

Most ThinkPads have pretty shitty speakers, but as long as the headphone jack works well that's all that matters for me. (I have a kick ass pair of headphones that I use all of the time.)

I hope so, in both look and feel. I would love for there to be a ThinkBook Pro line of the Cr-48, taking all the best parts of the Cr-48 mixing it with a ThinkPad and a Macbook Pro. I'm trying to think of some realistic hardware specs for this, but I'll get around to that later. (It would have to be Dual Core with 2GB of RAM able to use WebGL thanks to a AMD+ATi chip or just a sweet version of the ION 2 or Ontario APU.)

Yes! I have to turn the volume all the way up. Speakers don't wow me either.
