Pin tab – position your mouse cursor over the tab that you want to pin. Then, place two fingers on the touchpad and press down.
Enter a shell – I really use the shell quite a bit. you can enter a shell by pressing “ctrl” “alt” “t” at the same time. exit the shell by typing exit. you can list all of the available commands by typing “help”
Scrolling down a page – since the touchpad on the CR-48 does not have visible buttons, it took a bit to figure out how to scroll. place one finger on the touchpad and then use another finger on the touchpad swiping downard.
Inspect Element – the process is similar in operation to the Pin Tab feature. highlight a page element or place your mouse cursor over an element. then, place two fingers on the touchpad and depress.
Open the CR-48 file storage – the CR-48 does not have traditional file storage like a regular notebook. since Google’s netbook is designed to work on the cloud, local file storage is kept to a minimum. however, click “ctrl” “o” to open your Content Browser or Fileshelf.
Connectivity
The CR-48 comes with built-in wireless and 3G connection options. The Wi-Fi is on your dime. However, the 3G is made available by Verizon. Users get 100MB per month free for the first two years. Additional bandwidth can be purchased in monthly plans or in inexpensive day-passes. Activation requires that you enter your credit card for identity validation. However, you are not paying anything.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Note: The Ctrl-Alt-/ shortcut on the CR-48 will show you the keyboard screen help screen.
