The boot screen is easily customized by creating your own image.
1) Flip the developer switch and press CTRL+ALT+F2 (---> key) once logged in.
2) Gain root shell access with:
3) Move the current boot screen image to your Downloads folder for safe keeping:sudo su
4) Create your image with your favorite editor. The current boot screen image is 768x768. You may be able to save this from your image editor directly into the /usr/share/chromeos-assets/images folder, just make sure you save it as "boot_splash.png".mv /usr/share/chromeos-assets/images/boot_splash.png /home/chronos/user/Downloads
