This is a screencast (taken with my Motorola Flipside phone) of my Google Cr-48 laptop computer running Ubuntu 11.04 (between Alpha 3 and Beta 1) and Unity 3.6.8 (the Compiz-based version).

Poster's Note: The spike in views you see is me navigating to the video and refreshing the page enough times to push the Views count beyond 666 in order to ensure that the 666th view of the video is behind us.

No, you don't have to flash the BIOS to use Ubuntu the way I am. There are instructions to dual-boot Ubuntu and Chrome OS without even opening the case:

http://www.chromeoslounge.com/cr-48-...u-cr-48-a.html

Click the first link in that post, and you'll get to a blog entry showing how to do it. It involves getting to a virtual terminal, running bash, running a shell script, rebooting, and running the same script again.

To upgrade the resulting 10.10 installation to 11.04:

Now, you're all set.
